Whether by the sea, in the mountains or in the fields – anyone who looks towards the horizon of a landscape senses the vastness of the universe. Horizontal lines determine the field of vision, but the power of distance carries the viewer imaginarily beyond that line that marks the transition from earth to sky. It is not without reason that the concept of the geographical horizon is at the same time a metaphor for our imagination and our wealth of knowledge.
